Manufacturing Assembly Network
The Manufacturing Assembly Network (MAN Group) offers a comprehensive engineering solution for projects involving several manufacturing disciplines, leveraging expertise across various services to reduce costs, launch new products, and ensure security of supply.
With seven specialist manufacturers, an engineering design agency, and knowledge transfer from WMG, MAN boasts award-winning exports to 35 countries and holds 10 quality approvals, including IATF 16949, UL508, AS9100, and ISO 14001.
Founded in 2006 amidst challenges in the UK manufacturing industry, MAN aimed to address issues like lack of ambition and competition from low-cost rivals. Today, the group collaborates to enhance capability, retain and win orders, create value, and introduce innovative products to market.
MAN’s diverse engineering capabilities and design expertise facilitate product development from concept to manufacturing, offering a cost-effective approach. Clients benefit from access to multiple manufacturing services tailored to their needs.
As global disruptions like Brexit and COVID-19 impact supply chains, MAN stands out as a reliable partner with access to 15 factories and significant purchasing power. With a growing trend towards reshoring projects, the group’s collective strength, extensive quality accreditations, and skilled workforce ensure security of supply for clients, reaffirming MAN as a trusted manufacturing partner.

Design & Make Challenge
The MAN Group’s Design & Make Challenge is an annual event, targeting Year 10-12 students to foster interest in engineering, manufacturing, and technology careers.
Held at the University of Warwick, teams from schools or colleges compete to design and build a mechanical device using basic tools and materials within a day.
Support from MAN apprentices and engineers aids idea development. Entries are judged by engineers, with prizes awarded for Efficiency, Innovation, and Manufacturing.
The event has been highly successful, prompting continued efforts to engage youth in engineering careers. The initiative aims to attract students considering STEM careers and those interested in technical problem-solving, regardless of current educational paths.
The Challenge has some impressive numbers: Over 700 hours of hands-on practical manufacturing for young people, three Ultimaker 3D printers given out as prizes, nearly £100,000 of press coverage, including regional and national TV appearances, and 10 MAN company visits completed by schools.
